Do you know what happens every year on December 1 ? That is World AIDS Day. Nowadays ,there are about 40 millions people living with HIV/AIDS. It is a really alarming increase for world. While the world are trying to increase awareness about HIV and fight prejudice against people living with HIV, there are still many people who keep fear, discrimination ,unacceptable thoughts . In my opinion, we should respond World AIDS Day movement by the thing which we should not keep away from or despise the people who have been infected HIV .
Firstly ,many people consider that the people who are living with HIV are homosexuals, injecting drug user ,prostitute; therefore, they richly deserved to all that happened to them. I can understand because the people who have been infected HIV are predominantly these kind of people. However ,there are so many honest citizens who are harm by scoundrels, wives who are infected due to their husband or more unfortunately , the public health staffs or police officers who work wholeheartedly are infected HIV. Also , that many children have been infected even when they are unborn is really pitiful. We all fear HIV but it does not mean that those unlucky people are fearful. They are poor victims ,so we should sympathize with them.
Secondly, many people tend to keep away from the people living with HIV because they believe that it is the only way to prevent them from HIV. It is the common psychology of the people who are lucky not to have HIV. However ,it is the fear ,discrimination that fuel the persisting spread of HIV. It is a main reason why too many people are afraid to see a doctor to determine whether they have the disease. It helps make AIDS become the silent killer, because people fear the social disgrace of speaking about it, or taking easily available precautions. A person who died of AIDS left a letter in which he said “………everyone kept clear of us because they were afraid. My wife, son and I suffered from stigma, discrimination. Some of us had nowhere to stay, no care both mentally and physically. Do you know it is your discrimination that enables us to hide our state and to become the cause of many negative behaviors which continue to scatter HIV to others? No one knows if HIV can become your partner…..” It seems that the best way to prevent us from HIV is not keeping clear of people living with HIV.
Lastly, people usually consider that people living with HIV do nothing useful to society; therefore, their existence is not necessary. People who have AIDS are too weak to do anything because AIDS are eating them away. However , people who are living with HIV at the beginning period still live , work ,study as the normal people. They still contribute their brainpower and strength to society. Imagine that if about these 40 millions people who have HIV do not contribute anything to society , what will happen to the world ? More importantly, they are the most persuasive factors in the movement to appeal to everyone to protect himself from HIV. No one can know more clearly than the people who have been infected HIV about consequences that HIV is maltreating them day by day. They are propagandists who can make a tremendous impact on everyone so that the world can slow down the increase of HIV.
World AIDS Day is very meaningful. We who are not infected HIV are much luckier than people confronting HIV. Therefore , we should cut the unseen but full of thorns net which are woven by discrimination ,fear . Let` s give them encouragement to continue life by reducing cold looks, hurtful says and increasing warm compliments .

death penalty "just or unjust"
It is not unreasonable that death penalty is one of the punishments system of criminal law. Because there are many unforgivable crimes such as murder , drug dealing to which the punishments such as fine , prison for a period of time ,even life sentence cannot be considered deserved. However , the question: “death penalty is just or unjust ?” is still a controversial issue these days. Some people cannot accept death penalty because they think that it is cruel. Others consider death penalty as a just punishment. In my opinion, I strongly agree that death penalty is a just punishment and it can be a deterrent to crime.
Firstly , according to people who disapprove with death penalty, they believe that the relaxation of harsh laws has never led to increase in crime. Therefore, the “deterrent” argument is unreasonable and death penalty never protects anyone. I can understand their belief in criminals ` amendment. However ,have you ever thought that criminals are really grateful for humanity of law or they take advantage of the relaxation of laws to continue to commit crime. It is clear that relaxation of harsh laws does not work but death penalty is different. Death penalty can make criminals feel afraid in order not to commit crime or at least ,it gives the cold-blooded drugs dealer something to ponder about his behavior. Above all, it protects the most vulnerable members of society , young children , from brutal sex-maniacs.
Secondly, the anti-death penalty consider that hanging, electrocution, gas chamber, firing squad are cruel punishments ,unworthy of human beings. I think that humanity is also necessary. However , do you know what difference between human and animals is. That animals can eat their fellow-creature without thinking but human cannot is different. It is the cruelty that makes difference. People say that death penalty is cruel but why they do not think about what the criminals did such as a robber uses his cosh to batter a harmless old lady to death in order to rob her of her meager life-savings or the drug dealers who just take care of their money but others ` life or brutal sex-maniacs who just know theirs satisfaction. Is that cruel? All of these criminals do not care about consequences which they bring out to others . Why can we accept their existence ?
Lastly, people who cannot accept death penalty find it civilized for criminals to have life sentence. Life sentence sounds pretty horrible .However, it is more horrifying to think that the criminals can literally get away with murder. We all know that “life sentence” does not mean what it says . After 10 years or so of “good conduct” the criminals are free to return to society where they will live comfortably with the money of his crime before or they will go on committing crime until they are caught again . It is clear that life sentence does not solve problem . People find it civilized but do they know how a civilized society is .That society has justice .Have you ever thought of the justice for the victims and their family? Were the victims who did not even know the reason why they had to die consulted before life sentence decision for the criminals? The answer is no because they were dead.
Try thinking about a society without death penalty ,can you imagine how much crimes the criminals commit. Death penalty is the most effective punishment to deter crimes and only death penalty can bring the justice to victims and their family.

global warming
There has been a considerable increase in the average temperature of earth in recent years . This phenomenon is called Global Warming. The effects of global warming are numerous and various, ranging from the effects to the atmosphere, environment as well as the health life of human beings and animal. Three main effects which global warming leads to are climatic change , extinction of species and diseases.
Firstly,one of the major effects of global warming is the climatic change that is being absorbed on the earth. There are floods in the areas where the flood history is not very common.For example, in Cambodia, people have experienced unpredictable floods in last three years. There are droughts in places, which were having good rainfall.For example, in Australia. The atmosphere gets suddenly very harsh . The nature of earth's atmosphere is becoming even more unpredictable . This in turn brings about a variation in the biological systems essentially the crops, forests, oceans, fresh waterways, and grasslands. As these are the building and breeding grounds of life, the life on earth is getting affected.
Secondly, the effect of global warming is very evident on the animal kingdom also. Some animals have become extinct due to loss of their natural habitat or their inability to evolve to the rapid changes in the climate. Also, there is a change in their life style because of the changes in the seasons. The migrating birds have changed their time of travel and also their place of migration. Global Warming has been noticed in the behavior of the wild life. Major changes are seen in the animals as they react to the warmer environment, which are caused due to global warming. For example, many fish species are moving northward in search of cooler waters.
Lastly, the global warming is also responsible for the introduction of some new diseases. The bacteria are more effective and multiply much faster in warmer temperatures compared to cold temperatures. The increase in temperature has led to increase in the microbes that cause diseases. A warmer world seems to be producing a sicker world. Global warming is particularly hard on people in poor countries because the places that have contributed the least to global warming are most vulnerable to the death and disease higher temperatures can bring . Many of the most important diseases in poor countries, from malaria to diarrhea and malnutrition, are highly sensitive to climate.
In short, global warming is a threat to our future because it brings out many consequences such as climatic change, extinction of species , diseases……So, we should do something to reduce global warming such as cleaning up air polution, saving money with energy…..so that we we have a comfortable living environment .
